The Drug Discovery Process – An Overview from Discovery to Commercialization

The BioScience Partnership is happy to offer the following training sessions for our partners and their employees. Due to a grant from the PA Department of Labor and Industry, the workshops are free to the BioScience Partnership.

Presented by: Drug Information Association
Location: DIA Offices, Horsham
Date: May 10, 2007 - 8:00am to 5:00pm

This course provides an overview of how new pharmaceutical products are identified and developed. The roles and interactions among marketing, clinical R&D, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing will be reviewed. A basic description of the Investigational New Drug Application (IND) will lead to a review of how clinical trials are started, completed, and reported; ethical considerations in conducting clinical research; filing New Drug Application (NDA) and interactions with the FDA.  The course material focuses on developing drugs and biologics under FDA regulations and ICH guidelines.

This session is intended to describe the “big picture” for personnel seeking to gain a better understanding of how their roles fit into the overall process of pharmaceutical development.  It is especially helpful for administrative staff and others from most disciplines who have limited tenure or breadth of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.  Please click here for more details.
