Root Cause Analysis: A Critical Component of Structured Problem-Solving

The BioScience Partnership is happy to offer the following training sessions for our partners and their employees. Due to a grant from the PA Department of Labor and Industry, the workshops are free to the BioScience Partnership.

Presented by: Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center
Location: Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center – Please note location change!!
Date:  June 20, 2007 - 8:30am to 4:00pm

This workshop will focus on the methods, tools, and techniques for performing a root cause analysis in the context of the overall seven step problem-solving approach.  It will teach attendees how to construct a cause and effect diagram, analyze the results (and determine the need for any additional data), select the root cause(s), and then verify that determination.  In so doing, the attendees will learn how to utilize various tools including: classic brainstorming, cause/effect (Ishikawa) diagramming, and the matrix diagram for decision-making.  Finally, the attendees will be exposed to storyboarding as a mechanism for portraying problem-scenarios and documenting the approach followed in resolving the problem.  They will take away an understanding of how root cause analysis tools and techniques are integrated into the overall PDCA Cycle.  Please click here for more details.
