The Pennsylvania Turnpike provides state-wide access that runs from New Jersey to Ohio, Traversing the northern part of Chester County. There is a 24-hour Operations Center, open every day of the year, that provides assistance in emergency situations. Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA)
SEPTA offers Chester County residents convenient and affordable public transportation with local rail and bus service. Trains run frequently through the R5 rail line with stops in Thornbury, Downingtown, Whitford, Exton, Malvern and Paoli. Direct connections are available to Amtrak service. Bus service is available in the larger population centers of the county and through to Philadelphia.

Transportation Management Association of Chester County (TMACC)
In response to the rapid growth, a special association was formed to aid with the many transportation issues in the county. Together with area businesses and public transportation providers, TMACC analyzes current traffic and commuting patterns, looking for ways to improve efficiency and traffic flow. Chester County businesses have a direct involvement with planning offset commute times, share-a-ride programs and even parking issues that directly affect the volume on busy area roads.
