The automotive is the vehicle of choice in Chester County. The area is well-served by a network of federal and state highways and municipal roads. In fact, nearly 1,150 of Chester County's 3,000 miles of roads come under the jurisdiction of PennDOT. 26 miles of the PA Turnpike runs through the county with the Downingtown interchange at Rt.. 100.

Route 30, running from Philadelphia to Harrisburg, traverses the heart of central Chester County and is the most heavily traveled corridor, supported by Rt.. 202 and Rt.. 322. Other major roads include the PA Turnpike, Routes 100, Rt.. 1, Rt.. 41, Rt.. 3, Rt.. 252, Rt.. 23, Rt.. 724 and Rt.. 10. Chester County is a vital link in the transportation chain to major arteries including the Philadelphia International Airport (just 45 min. by car), the Port of Philadelphia, the Port of Wilmington, Interstate 95 and Interstate 476 (also known as the Blue Route). Baltimore is a short 90 minute car ride and it takes just two hours to travel from here to New York City.
