For over 47 years, the singular mission of the Chester County Economic
Development Council (CCEDC) has been to encourage and promote the
smart economic growth and prosperity of Chester County. As a private,
non-profit, non-governmental organization, we have achieved outstanding
success because we are heavily supported by private enterprise.

The Council offers seminars on important issues and areas of
interest for our community; hosts professional education presented
by regional universities; and arranges opportunities to meet
Chester County's best, brightest and most successful people.

High-Tech Facilities Available for Events:
The Council offers a variety of venues at its conference and
training center for your offsite meetings and trainings at undermarket
rates.

 

       

Our Accomplishments:
During the last 47 years, Council activities and services have
directly resulted in the:
  • Creation of over 95,000 new jobs.
  • Retention of more than 120,000 existing jobs.
  • Acquisition of over $5.7 billion in financing loans.
  • Establishment of over 5,200 new companies.
  • Access to over $78 million in state and federal grants for
    economic development annually.

During 2006-2007, the Council with its partners and affiliates:

  • Closed 41 SBA 504 loans valued at $31.7 million totally.
  • Welcomed and served the needs of 268 new and renewing
    CCEDC members with a retention rate from the prior year of 83%.
  • Received three (3) Agricultural Economic Development Grants
    and secured the approval of 43 agricultural loans with a total
    value of $14.8 million.
  • Provided Brownfields Initiative assistance for the redevelopment
    of 15 industrial sites.
  • Hosted 440 conference and training events in the CCEDC
    corporate facility in Eagleview.
  • Created a Department of Government and Municipal Services
    and hired a director to manage it.
  • Implemented a state-approved Chester County Keystone
    Innovation Zone (KIZ) funded at a $325,000 level to support
    the growth of recently-established science and IT companies.
  • Facilitated $14.3 million in state incentives to sustain 10
    business retention and expansion projects in Chester County.
  • Partnered with PASA (Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable
    Agriculture) to advance initiatives in the Southeastern PA region.
  • Obtained $20 million in grant funding for economic development
    projects in the county and contiguous communities.
  • Secured $1.04 million in total funding for ITAG (Innovative
    Technology Action Group), BioScience, Healthcare and KIZ
    industry partnerships.

What Does CCEDC Do?
Council staff coordinate available economic development
resources; provide below-market, low-interest loans to businesses;
promote international business expansion; educate and assist
entrepreneurs in establishing businesses; redevelop brownfields
sites; assist farmers to raise capital for growth and expansion;
and lots more!
